I’m in London right now….packed up a rucksack, caught a train and the tube…got my lonely planet guide ;)
You might be wondering why I’m on the Internet again….well I’m actually at Niina’s work :)))
I have finally, after THREE years of Internet friendship met Niina, and had to come halfway round the world to do so (she’s originally from Sydney). *big_grin*
I feel as if a circle has been completed :-)
I’ve had a look around Chelsea, Sloan Square, lovely and posh and immensely trendy. I like :)
I am in the Croydon Council Library at the moment. Free internet access! Fan bloody tastic.
The bummer thing is that this sodding machine won’t let me run a java applet so I am sending a plea for help out to all of you.
I REALLY REALLY need somewhere to stay for a couple of days.
I have been staying with my Aunt in Kenley, Surrey, but she has these two horrid dogs and I can’t stand dogs. Everything in her house is broken or falling apart. I can’t stand it.
One of her dogs is about 16 years old, can’t hardly walk or do anything. He’s blind and deaf and smells so bad that I’m going to vomit again if I stay there one more night.
Kylie or Aaron, if you are reading this, I really need some help!
I have organised a mobile phone sim card and my number is:
07880 633107
For anyone that wants to SMS me internationally, the UK international code is +44 and then I guess if you are in Australia you will need to put 0011 in front of the 44….not quite sure about that.
Also: Richard, I used the java applet yesterday at an Internet cafe in London, can you pretty pretty please do something about the size of the font, it is SO hard to read!!!!!!! :-)
Yesterday I caught several trains and also caught a tube, wow the underground…it’s sorta like catching a tram, except that if you’re going the wrong way, it’s harder to get to the other side of the tracks….and it’s so dark when you are on a tube, it’s spoooooooky….not sure if I like tubes, it would be better to be with one of my friends…..(ie Aaron matey please help me out here!)
People are generally pretty friendly, I managed to find the post office and the library in Purley, but their internet access was booked out, so that’s why I am in Croydon.
Travel is expensive, everything is expensive actually, but that’s what you get when you’re in England and you have Australian dollars.
Went to an interview at a recruitement company yesterday, dunno if that’s going to bring anything through.
Not sure if i want work anyways…but I would like to do some sight seeing before the weather gets too foul….
Except it’s bloody cold and dismal already, not sure if I will be able to stick out the whole winter. I miss Australia terribly…
I think, that being in Australia for summer would be grand, and then in winter, I can use some of my money to go skiiing - heh :) Yes, home is feeling like a bloody long way away.
Oh my god, for fark’s sake. This Internet exploder has been hacked to pieces. There’s NO file menu, and I can only have one browser window open at a time! Argh!
Ok I shall finish this off for now…
And again, a plea for help, Aaron or Kylie, if you are out there, please please call me, I really need to find somewhere to stay, for tonight!!!!!!
Just a quick message to let you all know that I made it (just) and I am alive and breathing. 24 hours of airtime in a plane is shocking….
I have 3 minutes left at an Internet cafe, so more later!
I am in London at the moment, caught the train up here (yep by myself wow)!
Things are hectic, the weather is shite…..the clouds are so low that they look like they are about to fall on my head!
Must go and buy an umbrella or something
So much for being an ace traveller or whatever. I’ve just spent almost the entire two days in bed. The first day and night getting over some kind of jet laggy thing. The second dealing with some kind of gastro thing. Yuk.
What’s more, the dogs are disgusting - ik smelly hairy things. Blech. This place seems to be under the Gatwick flight path, reminding me how far away Adelaide is and how far away my mum is. I guess I now have to trust other people and ask for help when I need it. I’ll also have to get away from this doggyness somehow. Lordy I hope I feel better tomorrow. At least I haven’t been forced into doing anything and at least the dog isn’t allowed upstairs. I think it’s back to vego snooze land for me.
So I’m going to do what Amy suggested and use this book to write things in. To somehow take everyone I’ve left behind with me and to take some small part of all the places I go to and the people I meet with me too.
Right now I’m on a plane, about 2 1/2 hours out of Singapore. It’s about a quarter to five local Singapore time. +8 hours GMT. Same as Perth/WA. Saw some desert somewhere in the middle of Australia after coastline and lots of sea. Got window seats all the way. The wings haven’t fallen off yet either. I certainly hope they don’t. I’ve got my eye on one of them anyway.
I can’t believe I’m on my way, after counting down a day every morning since June. And now, I’m travelling. When do I become a traveller? When I have that easy come, easy goes flexible attitude like the people I”ve met before? Time will only tell.
To infinity and beyond :-)
