what do you think?
$399 for a double bed frame, no canopy from freedom……
unfortunately no chance to blog today so i need to try and get down as much as possible now… although the next session that i want to attend will be starting in a few minutes.here’s a quick rundown anyway. arrive 9:30, listened to a speaker until 10:30, morning tea, first concurrent session 11 - 12:30, digital libraries. sounds like Kinetica and the NLA are working on some very interesting projects….
lunch at 12:30, gave me a chance to mingle a bit and meet some new people - terribly tiring that!!! second session was in the afternoon from 2 - 3:30… not quite what i thought it would be. the afternoon saw another tea break followed by another session in the main hall.
more later time to go!
free web access! even if i can’t check mail i can still blog. this may be very useful. especially as i have to write an article for the ALLG bulletin (nothing is free these days huh).
anyway, so here i am, at a CONFERENCE! me! at a conference. that’s pretty special. although, i do feel a little out of place. there’s a fair amount of older people and really established professionals. will i ever be like that? will i ever even manage to get a job in a library that gives me more than 2 hours a week? i certainly hope so.
hmm anyone who has any job hunting tips, or even any jobs for me can get in touch here. i hope that was the right URL.
sorry eleanor, i still haven’t finished that marketing plan for management in information organisations, i’ll get to it, soon! promise…. to be honest, i’ve been feeling a little bit unmotivated about uni lately. i hope the motivation comes back. i really do.
do i have other news? friday night was fun, went out for dinner with jarrod and friends to help celebrate his birthday. then cruised over to the grace emily (love that pub), wandered over to the crown and anchor with a girl from uni and a friend of her’s from work. had a bit of a late night and as a result didn’t get up to particularly much on the saturday… sleeping, food shopping, and an afternoon nap, followed by dinner, tv and reading. nice.
better go mingle with the crowds and pretend i’m one of them. hopefully i’ll bump into someone i know. i don’t particularly feel like mingling with people i don’t know.
receiving my tax return meant that I could pay my parents back the $300 for my car service. I did this.. and was quite surprised when my mum insisted on giving $100 of it BACK to me! Excellent! Just enough to pay for the new parts I bought for my car yesterday.
Today I got paid from Evie’s mother - another $70 in pocket!
My lecturer gave me permission to hand in a late assignment for management in information organisations (MIO).
All I need now is to ace this job interview tomorrow morning and win a position, finish (and start) my MIO assignment and all will be sweet.
Except for all the organising I need to do this weekend for my party next weekend and the conference preparation for next week.
Unfortunately I have had to put a few SALIN projects on the back burner (again) due to insufficient time to dedicate to them and way too many other commitments.
I’m looking forward to September.
drove to wingfield and bought some new parts for my car.
took forever to track them down. cost me $115!!!
