Siddhartha - Herman Hesse

I finished reading my first Herman Hesse novel last week. I borrowed it off a co-worker. I was disappointed to discover that the library where I work has NO Hesse in it’s collection. We had to get it on ILL from another library. She’s reading Steppenwolf at the moment.

It was great. Lots to think about.
I think you should read it, why?
Well, it’s set in India for starters.
It’s well written. It’s interesting.

You might learn something from it, or alternatively you might want to read more Hesse, or take a trip to India.
It reminded me a little of Paulo Coelho’s book “The Alchemist”, which coincidentally I’ve recently just read as well.
I think it was the style of writing that seemed familiar, but also some of the themes that came out of the novel.
That of searching for something, and discovering it within yourself, or in the place where you started, and finding peaceĀ  within when your journey is complete - one stage of it anyway.
