I was born on a Wednesday…

Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Friday’s child is loving and giving,
Saturday’s child works hard for its living,
But a child that’s born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blythe, and good and gay.

Architecture

I seem to be quite fascinated by buildings. I never realised it until I came back home after months of travelling through Europe and Malaysia. I didn’t even notice this myself until one of my friends commented upon my travel photos - where are all the people? Indeed, where were they? The only photos I seemed to have taken were of buildings and landscapes. Predominantly pictures of buildings.

I admire the designs of Antoni Gaudi, as can be seen by my photos from Barcelona.

Surrealism

During 2000 when I was in London I visited a Salvador Dali exhibition. Having studied art at high school and being brought up by a creative mother I was already familiar with Dali’s work. Nonetheless, I was still fascinated by his paintings and sculptures. I fell in love with Dali’s work all over again.

2003 saw me visiting an Australian Surrealism exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia where I discovered the work of James Gleeson. I have a postcard print of one of his paintings up at work near my desk.
