I’m going to leave this to my Mum. She’s doing such a great job as it is!

Giving up on flamenco

There are only so many things that you can achieve at once. A month ago I wanted to learn to pole dance, tomorrow I’ll probably be inspired by Morris dancing. Who knows. So I’m going to focus on the things that I am already doing, and do them better!

Sewing

I had this great idea that I’d like to learn to sew. But to be honest, it’s really not my kind of thing. It’s annoying, and it’s a talent best left to other people.

Mum? :) Can you finish making my skirt for me? :) I’ll post it to you??? :)

Saturday 3rd Feb

This Saturday it’s my Dad’s 66th Birthday - Happy Birthday Dad!

Despite the fact that he can get pretty grumpy sometimes, and have no clue about anything to do with being a woman (let alone living with one!) I love him. Heaps. He might not appear to be listening or paying attention to what’s going on around him, but then when the time really counts, he’s got exactly the right words to say. Even if there are only three of them.

Dad #2

I’d love to hang out with him for his birthday, like last year! I phoned him up from the airport and said “Surprise, I’m about to get on a plane flying to Brisbane” (this was at 7:30 in the morning). He didn’t believe me. It was then absolutely impeccable timing that there was a boarding call for my flight! He believed me then, and I took that opportunity to say “Uhm, do you think you could pick me up at the airport in about 2 1/2 hours?”. I love my family.

So, Dad, because I love you and I want to go out for your birthday, but I can’t make it to Brisbane this year, I’m going to have a great night out, in order to celebrate you and your life. I’d love it if anyone wants to come along. I’m thinking dinner out, and then I’ve just found out that Kasey Taylor is playing at Electric Light on Saturday night!
