Library loft

I saw these photos blogged on bend to squares, my sister’s website. I dream about having book shelving like this in my house. What a lovely looking personal library these people have. It’s a loft apartment in New York, United States of America.

Unshelved

The Unshelved comic from the 7th of January was pretty funny. Usually they’re pretty funny, I mean, how can they not be. But then, I’m a Librarian and I find things like speaking in robot voices funny. Hmm anyway, more about that in another post!

I’ve included a smaller version here, but to read the text, just click on the comic. It’s a great one for cat lovers. Keep an eye on my cat links on delicious if you’re into cats, anything that’s catty and funny I post in there.

Speed dating with a plot twist!

A library in Australia (I’m not sure which one…) has just started running speed dating events at the library. The library manager described the event as “speed dating with books. It’s designed to bring book lovers together.”

What a fantastic idea!

The Librarians

ABC TV is to boost its Australian content next year, scheduling an extra 40 hours of locally-produced drama and documentary programming with the help of new government funding.

One of these TV programs is The Librarians - written, produced and starring Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope, will feature six half-hour episodes following two librarians working towards the biggest event on their work calendar, book week. I can’t WAIT to see this. One problem, no TV! Might have to go next door and watch it at Uncle Jeffrey’s.
