There are two reasons why my heart skipped a beat when I saw this collection of photos on The Electric: 1) Freckles! 2) That hotel! I have been thinking a lot lately about my trip to LA and my darling friend there. It makes me sad that October last year was the last time I [...]

Is it ridiculous that I am sitting in bed with my hair standing on end, fiendishly hungry for eggs on toast, with last night’s clothes strewn across the floor, wishing my life resembled vintage Dior editorials? Oh for some poise (class! style! money!).

Grand Central Station, NYC, 1941. Apparently the light doesn’t stream in like this anymore because the buildings around the station are too tall. [Photos by John Collier Jr. Via ckck]

Just as you are beginning to doubt your feelings for it, London has this magnificent way of presenting itself: with valour and pride, so subteley that you won’t realise you’re falling in love again until you’re gone, breathless, drowning. Happy Valentine’s day. [Photos by me/Canon AE-1]

When I was in America last year I realised that a little part of me must be a tiny bit Navajo because of how inexplicably drawn I was to moccasins. I didn’t end up buying any (REGRET!), but every so often my heart twinges at the thought of going all tribal on your asses. I [...]

These feel like such in between times, don’t you think? The weather here is muted and grey, close and crowding so nothing gets out, no one gets out. 1, 2, 3

Tomorrow is my Dad’s birthday. To commemorate, I asked a few people to draw pictures of my Dad and the things that remind me of him. Then I stuck them all on a blog. As I was putting them all online today, I was overwhelmed and honoured by how much time went in to them. [...]
