My plaid fad

I have a problem and it’s getting serious. Don’t worry Mum, it’s nothing bad. It’s plaid. Yes, seriously. I am obsessed with plaid. I’ve always had the odd check shirt in my wardrobe but in the last couple of weeks this love has consumed me. My heart actually beats faster when I see plaid.

Last night my flatmate (who works in fashion) gave me a men’s plaid shirt to give to Nick and I was thinking “NUHUH! I don’t care if it doesn’t fit. This baby is MINE.” And then I put it over my dress and wore it for the rest of the night. Seriously, I am out of control.

So I thought I would post about it here and get you all to tell me I’ve lost it. And then I thought I should probably look for some kind of visual reference… and now I am a little bit sweaty and in love and want to go shopping:

This happened to me once. Last summer. I even toyed with starting a company with a friend. ‘Plaid Girls Managment’. But thats another story. My favourite plaid shirt has gold metallic thread through it and a little tie at the front. My favourite plaid skirt is affectionately referred to as the ‘picnic blanket skirt’. You are not alone. x

The carrot cake is pretty fool proof! Just make sure it doesn’t burn! You should also try my friend Nadia’s polenta cake which is delicious.

And shoosh! My friend works at Frankie, that’s how it happened!

My old school uniform was plaid… thus I have a very unhealthy fear of it. But I love your two plaid/gingham choices on the bottom right!

Hm… I wonder who would win between plaid vs gingham? Or plaid vs paisley…

Elly, that’s so funny you mentioned your school uniform. Just yesterday I was telling my friend that for a very brief moment I had considered tracking down my plaid (or tartan, technically) school uniform and seeing if it still fit me. That’s how bad this plaid obsession’s getting. She just laughed at me and told me there was no way she was ever going to let me do that.

Paisley will never win as far as I’m concerned.

Must agree with you regarding paisley. Bleah.
My school uniform was also tartan! It was kind of vom: tomato red and bottle green.

Mine was blackwatch tartan: bottle green and navy! I actually don’t think I could’ve gone through with wearing it. Too weird.

Actually Vic it all started when you went to Seymour College. The black watch tartan was really YOU!

Interesting…. I have the same obsession but mainly with blue plaid. I have so many I’m working on a catalog just to show them off.
