Just some famous architects

Dressed as the buildings they designed at the 1931 Beaux-Arts costume ball.

(From left to right: A Stewart Walker as the Fuller Building, Leonard Schultze as the Waldorf-Astoria, Ely Jacques Kahn as the Squibb Building, William Van Alen as the Chrysler, Ralph walker as 1 Wall Street, D.E.Ward as the Metropolitan Tower and Joseph H. Freelander as the Museum of New York.)

No biggie.

why couldn’t we have celebs dressing up like this nowadays? i would totally read the gossip mags then…

  3. Really love this one. You should follow #collectionfishing on twitter, you’ll see some great old photos surfacing. I’ve been enjoying posting on behalf of the State Library of South Australia.
